September is Local Food month. LADA will host a “Soup & Sharing” event on Monday, September 29th at 6pm at the Fire Hall in Scotsville. Guest speaker will be Georgia MacNeil, of the Ecology Action Center who will talk about the importance of supporting local food producers.

“Autumn, the year’s last, loveliest smile.”
-William Cullen Bryant
LADA volunteers put up the newly purchased "Welcome to Lake Ainslie" signage at the three entrances to the Lake. Thanks to the volunteers for helping out on the sign project, and also to Central Supplies for donating material to erect the signs. LADA is looking at doing a viewscape project to open up views of the Lake, and also supporting Gaelic classes in the area.
Milling Frolic was a success
A milling frolic was at the fire hall in August and it was very well attended and a fun social event. Over 50 people came out to take part or just listen to the singing and chat with friends and neighbours. Tea and food was provided and many people asked the organizer, Carmen MacArthur, when the next milling frolic would be held. Watch for details on future events.
