LADA - seeking individuals & input for senior housing committee
LADA is moving forward on the topic of senior housing in the community. In two surveys of the community over the past ten years, the need for senior housing was identified as a priority. If you wish to lend your ideas or explore this important topic, please considering joining the committee. Any individual, whether you will need senior housing in 5 years or 50 years, is encouraged to get involved. The committee will officially be formed at the February 9th meeting of LADA and any interested persons wishing to put their name forward are encouraged to get in touch with Coralie Cameron or another member of the executive, if you can’t attend the meeting.

Trail Committee update
The trail committee recently received a grant of $29,000 from Trans Canada Trails (TCT) that they applied for in the fall. This money is to complete a new section of trail leaving the railbed and connecting to Kenloch. This is just the first stage in the trail committee’s ambitious project to complete a 51 kilometer section of trail from Kenloch to McNaughton Mountain Road & the Whycocomagh network of trails. The trail will be part of the Canada wide trail network, and the goal is to complete the TCT by Canada’s anniversary year in 2017. If you wish to get involved or help out with the committee, please speak to Mike Gillis or David MacLean.
