· Adult square dance on Tuesday night
· Merchandise Bingo on Wednesday

· Maragan Dinner on Friday and
· The popular Parade Day and games of chance and bake sale on Saturday.

Walking on the trail – “meet up” on Thursday mornings
There will be a “meet up” scheduled to walk on the trail below Lakeview Drive, one morning a week – every Thursday morning at 8:30am for the month of June and into July. The trail is lovely but some people prefer not to walk on the trail alone due to the potential of meeting up with a wild animal. The trail is very level and smooth and safe for walking, biking or pushing a stroller. Go at your own pace and know there are others nearby, or walk with the group.
Senior housing committee is looking into potential projects
The recently formed housing committee of LADA travelled to the community of St. Andrews, just outside Antigonish, in early May to view a senior housing complex that was built by that community and to speak to committee members about their process. The visit was very informative & inspiring, with the St. Andrews committee members sharing valuable tips and information. Members of the Lake Ainslie group toured the building, viewed one of the apartments and common areas and found it very exciting to see what the community was able to accomplish. Watch for more details, information and future community meetings at the Lake as the group carries this idea forward.
“Thoughts come clearly while one walks.” ~Thomas Mann
After dinner sit awhile, after supper walk a mile. ~English Proverb
“But in every walk with Nature one receives far more than he seeks.”
~John Muir, July 1877
Square dances return to Tuesday nights at the Fire Hall
The Lake Ainslie Volunteer Fire Department will host six adult square dances this summer on Tuesday evenings at the Fire Hall. Watch for the schedule to be published and weekly updates in the Inverness Oran for details about the weekly fiddlers. The dances are a good chance to hear some great music and chat with friends who are “home from away,” while supporting the Fire Department.
