Santa spotted in the area?!
Sadly, the community Christmas concert had to be cancelled due to COVID, but Santa couldn’t resist making his annual visit to this area. Santa made an appearance in the community on December 20th to check in with local girls and boys to see how they are doing this year. Thanks to Patterson’s General Store & the LAVFD for providing treats, and to the Fire Department volunteers for helping Santa get around the community safely!
Cross Country Ski Workshop – January 2021
A workshop for cross country ski beginners and enthusiasts who wish to improve their technique will be held in early 2021. The workshop will be led by Daniel Murray of North Highland Nordic & Provincial XC Ski team coach. Date & Time of the workshop is still TBA; watch for more details to come. Sponsored by the Municipality of Inverness “Winter Active” Fund.
COVID- Related Cancellations
Unfortunately, there have been many community events cancelled or unable to be held this year due to COVID. The Christmas concert, the Christmas Eve church services at local churches, and the carol singing will not be held this year. Despite these cancelled events, we know that neighbours will be checking in on neighbours to make sure everyone is doing okay. We hope you have a quiet but cozy Christmas holiday, and hope to see a return to local community events in 2021. The Municipality has set up a toll-free number to access resources & information during the pandemic: 1-877-258-5550

Events in 2021…
- LADA has recently purchased a projector to use for events at the Fire Hall, and the goal is to host a storytelling night with the potential to show some old films or footage of past community events.
- Depending on the situation in 2021, we will hope to host the annual coasting party, weather and COVID- permitting.
