Lake Ainslie Newsletter Summer 2020, Pandemic Edition
Outdoor Bake Sale & BBQ – August 8th
The MacDonald House Museum staff will be hosting a bake sale and BBQ on Saturday, August 8th from 12 – 3pm. There will be hamburgers and hot dogs on the BBQ and pop and water for purchase. Stop by the bake sale to pick up a sweet treat & some homemade goodies for the weekend! This event will be held outdoors (weather permitting) with social distancing measures in place. Don’t forget your mask!
The MacDonald House Museum did not open to the public for tours this summer, but they were able to hire staff, and they are planning this one day event to help with their ongoing fundraising and maintenance efforts. The site has had significant work done to the roof of the house, and more repairs are needed in the future. Come and help ‘raise the roof’ at the MacDonald House Museum. If you wish to contribute to the bake sale, please get in touch with the Administrator, Kim, by calling the Museum site (902) 258-3317, or via email: [email protected]
Donations to local groups are welcome at this time
Despite being closed due to the COVID – 19 shut down, local organizations have ongoing maintenance of their buildings and sites to consider. Many groups have had to cancel their fundraising efforts and festivals for the season. Local groups in the Lake Ainslie area are seeking donations from anyone wishing to help at this time with a financial contribution. Some of the groups below have requested donations and some have not, but the list includes all non-profits at the Lake with charitable status. A Canadian Charitable Tax Receipt will be issued for all donations received. A donation to a local group is a nice way to recognize and celebrate a birthday, anniversary, or memorial gift.
